The Business office of Career Organizing (OCP) at Meredith University is thrilled to share the updated Vocation Scheduling Workbook. The refresh was a collaborative work involving OCP, college students from Assistant Professor of English Jennifer Burgess’ lessons, and an alumna.
Prior to the 2021-22 tutorial calendar year, Burgess was browsing for an experiential task to incorporate in her classes. Coincidentally, OCP was planning to revise the Occupation Setting up Workbook, which was 1st printed in 2017. It was the fantastic prospect for college students to attain true-earth encounter in the classroom.
“We knew [the workbook] desired a refresh. We had just absent as a result of 2020 and a large amount of things ended up transforming. The office landscape was wanting unique. It was a great partnership and superior timing that Jennifer shared she was looking for one thing,” said Dana Sumner, director of OCP.

The workbook was made by Meredith alumna Kayla Burton, ’18. Burton built the 1st edition of the workbook in 2017 as a student intern for the OCP. Now functioning as a qualified graphic designer, she was able to use her enhanced expertise to just one of her initial initiatives.
“The refresh of the workbook is a good illustration of how we collaborate on this campus. We hope it makes occupation and experienced growth far more available to far more men and women,” reported Sumner.
