DENVER — Denver school board member Brad Laurvick has introduced that he programs to stage down from his position by the end of June, according to Denver Community Schools (DPS).
The time period for Laurvick, who was elected in 2019, would have ended in 2023. The Board of Education will appoint a substitute for District 5 in northwest Denver, DPS claimed.
In addition to serving on the Board of Education and learning, Laurvick is a pastor at Highlands United Methodist Church. He wrote in his resignation letter to the board that he will be appointed to Initially United Methodist Church in Fort Collins productive July 1.
“That means June 30th will be my last day of eligibility to serve as a director on the Denver General public Educational institutions Board of Education,” he wrote. “… I am grateful for the prospect to provide Denver in this way and believe in my board colleagues will obtain a community and pupil targeted appointee to fill this seat.”
