Writing with Everything on the Line

The professor of my history class gave the entire class an assignment that was worth half of our grade in the class. We were allowed to write about any time period discussed in the class, but we had to provide 15 pages worth of content. I’m not a fan of writing papers, especially long ones, so I was not a big fan of that. On top of that, the professor told us that if there was any sign of plagiarism in our papers, we would be given a failing grade, with no exceptions. I used the Plagiatkontroll to double check my paper because I was worried that I might have inadvertently put something in that might have been flagged as plagiarism.

Normally when I write papers, I don’t worry about having any plagiarism problems, but those papers usually don’t count for half of my grade. Since the stakes were higher this time, I didn’t want to take any chances. I did a lot of research to write the paper, which took a lot of hours of sifting through library books and online resources. Page by page I was able to put together my paper, taking care to make note of every source while writing it. It took about two weeks to type all 15 pages.

Once the paper was done, I ran it through the checker on the website and there were no signs of plagiarism. To my surprise, I was actually done with my paper early. Some of the other people in my class were still working on theirs and some even waited until the last minute to finish theirs. I’ve waited until the last minute in some instances, but for a paper as long as this one, I knew that I wouldn’t be able to pull an all nighter to do it.
